Rust has nothing to look for in the current Linux kernel. The kernel is C. Multilanguage is a mess nobody wants. Either we go all in, all rust and port everything, or we use C. This will not happen overnight, but I do not see a way to mix them both. - Personal Opinion Nobody Wanted or asked for.

@centopus well, feel free to port @AsahiLinux 's patches to .

As for , IDGAF in general.

Public

@kkarhan All i see, is a deadlock nobody has a reasonable solution to. @AsahiLinux @OS1337

Public

@centopus not really.

As for @AsahiLinux and their ; that's entirely upon @linuxfoundation and @torvalds allowing - to flex and sabotage the effort...

@kkarhan I have too little in-knowledge to continue this discussion.

What is done, that is done. Asahi relies on rust code.

I'm just feeling, that c and rust mixing will come out biting us in the behind.

We experience the fallout of/and the public discussions. What happens in private will decide on future.

@centopus again, I consider this the other way around.

The whole against is as absurd as the hate against [www.youtube.com] and , because if and were viable people would've fixed them.

And @AsahiLinux delivered results at neck-breaking speeds thx to & @lina ...

Public

@kkarhan If you're right. All we need it time. I hope its as simple and you are right. @AsahiLinux @lina

@centopus personally, I see @AsahiLinux as a "canary" project in that regard.

@linuxfoundation and @torvalds need to enshure that toxicity and neighsayers are toned down way harder, cuz bullying people like into quitting [marcan.st] isn't gonna help anyone and will only damage by making it look like the "" shitshow that , RMS et. al. [www.youtube.com] stan for [www.youtube.com]...

  • I literally know a shitload of trans, non-binary or just non- [white hetero/cis (binary) male] persons who refuse to even consider upstreaming or contributing to , or any projects at all due to the sheer observed externally.

And that is a problem even if we don't care about , and but merely the of said projects!

  • Cuz why would I (or anyone else) want to work with/on/for a company/project that'll get me (deservedly [!!!]) side-eyed at best if not unfriended by the few people I care about personally?

@kkarhan I believe we're done with this discussion, because you migrated from rational arguments into "DEI".

Wish you a nice day.

Public

@centopus the fact that you get "triggered" [101010.pl] by makes you someone I don't discuss with, but show the door from the outside

  • People like you are the reason why is seen as !

@centopus

Please explain, in detail, how come "fair treatment and full participation of all people, particularly groups who have historically been underrepresented or subject to discrimination based on identity or disability" aren't rational arguments?

@kkarhan @centopus @AsahiLinux @linuxfoundation @torvalds it's terrible, but it happens every where. That's why we talk with our students about community development. I cannot move away from the idea that i am seeing many people which are neuro different.
