I can fix toxicity in online games overnight.

Pass a federal law mandating a public unauthenticated API that accepts a player name and returns their government-issued photo ID.

Toxicity will be solved literally instantly as people are suddenly accountable for talking shit.

@r000t Existing studies from plaves like the "P.R." China and Taiwan, where MMORPGs demand Government IDs for signup will likely contradict this.

  • In fact these systems only harm and d0x homest players whilst empowering serial harassers who know how to commit identity theft or at least generate a valid national ID number...

What does however help is effective moderation that actually gives a damn and cares about things!

@kkarhan Actions need to have consequences. If people said the same shit to people IRL that they say to me online, they’d get their ass beat on a daily basis. After some amount of ass beatings, they’ll stop the offending behavior. I guarantee it.

@r000t sadly no, otherwise Agent Krasnov would not be in the Oval Office.

  • I don't deny the need for and , I just don't see it happening where it matters and only being flexed against those who are easy to prey upon due to lack of money...
